Coming up one week from today (Tuesday, January 28th) is the AIM Community Information Meeting: Angier at Carr. This meeting provides an opportunity to ask questions and get the latest updates about Angier’s transition to Carr. Please also check out the Angier in Motion FAQ page on the PTO website – you may find that some of your questions have already been answered! We highly recommend that all parents come to this meeting.
Also coming up at AASP is the early release field trip on Wednesday, February 5th, Feb Vacation Camp which takes place February 18th – 21st, and our annual Cabaret on Thursday, March 13th.
First up, the early release field trip to go ice skating at the Frog Pond on Boston Common. Weather permitting, we will be heading to Boston Common via the Green Line to do some ice skating. This is always a really good time for children of all experience levels. If your child is interested in joining us on the trip, you can pick up a permission on the cubbies outside of the Main Room or just download one here!
Shortly after that we will be having Feb Vacation Camp. Featuring different fun and exciting activities every day, our vacation camps are always unique and enjoyable for all the children. There has been one change to the camp itinerary: the activity for Thursday, February 20th (formerly “AASP Winter Olympics” day) has now been changed to Winter Wonderland day and will now include sledding, snow fort building, hot chocolate, and more! If you are interested in having your child join us for Feb Vacation Camp, you can also pick up a permission on the cubbies outside of the Main Room or just download one here!
Last but not least, Cabaret is creeping up on us and will be here before we know it. Cabaret is our annual talent show where the children of AASP can showcase any and all of their talents. Right now people are still allowed to sign up and next week we will begin rehearsals. If your child would like to be a part of this special event, please have them see Jason or Brad to sign up. While Cabaret does take place on an early release Thursday, your child does not have to be enrolled at AASP on Thursdays. Any child enrolled in AASP can, and is encouraged to, be part of Cabaret.
For more details on any of these events, please visit our EVENTS page.
Finally, in order to make the website a bit more user friendly, we have updated the navigation menu. We now have a drop-down menu for the ABOUT page, and have included two new pages; one for the AASP hockey league which includes the all the players and their teams, the current standings and stats; and one entitled DOWNLOADS which will always included downloadable resources such as the AASP application, permission slips, and any other pertinent documents. Along with these new sections, whatever the current AASP application is, will now always be available on the HOME page under the most recent post.
We hope these new additions help to make the website a little more user friendly and easy to navigate.
Stay warm out there!
