Enrollment 24-25 Information and Timeline

Timeline:

Monday, March 18 – Registration Open

Sunday, March 31 (midnight) – Registration Deadline

Week of April 8-12 – Decisions emailed to families

Priority Guidelines:

We wish we could accommodate all applicants, but we are licensed to serve a limited number of students per day and unfortunately demand usually exceeds those limits. The following guidelines detail how admission order is determined when the number of applicants exceeds the number of slots available for any given day and age group in the program.

  • Currently enrolled families are guaranteed any/all of their current enrollment days, with a minimum of two days. This applies to existing students and their incoming kindergarten siblings, so long as we can accommodate all incoming K siblings within our licensed capacity limits.
  • There is no penalty or loss of priority for a family wishing to reduce their current enrollment. For example, a family currently enrolled full time that applies for just two days for next year is guaranteed those two days.
  • In a change from past years, priority status will not be linked to the number of days that a family applies for. For example, a new family applying for 3 days will be considered at the same priority level as any new family applying for 5 days. See below for an explanation of our new Priority Levels (1-4). We hope this will encourage families to apply for just the days they need, and enable us to better meet community needs and welcome more new families to the program.
  • Enrollment is NOT first-come-first-served. All applications received by the deadline will have equal weight based on their Priority Level. If there is not enough space on any given day and in any given age group to accommodate all applicants of a certain Priority Level, applicants from the same Priority Level will be chosen at random.
  • For all applicants, a two-day minimum is required for enrollment. This means that you need to not only apply for at least two days, but be accepted for at least two days in order to be enrolled. For example, if a family applies for Mondays and Wednesdays, and we only have space on Mondays, the child will be waitlisted for both days.

Priority Levels:

  1. Currently enrolled families applying for any/all of their current enrollment days
  2. Currently enrolled families applying for days which they are not currently enrolled (adding/changing days)
  3. Current waitlist families (23-24 school year waitlist*)
  4. New applicants**

*Please note, WL families who have been offered and declined enrollment in the 23-24 school year have been removed from the list, and will be considered new applicants. Contact us with any questions about your current waitlist or priority status.

**Any family who does not have a student currently enrolled or currently on the waitlist is considered a new applicant, even if they have applied to or attended the program in the past.

Enrollment Policies:

Currently enrolled families will apply in the Parent Portal. New families and Current Waitlist families will apply for enrollment through our online registration system – the link will be posted on our website on March 18th at 12pm.

Make sure that you read the entire application form, including the agreements, before submitting. Completing this process does not guarantee enrollment, and enrollment is NOT first-come-first-served. All applications received before the deadline will be reviewed based on our priority guidelines (see above). The email and pop up auto-generated by the registration form serve only as confirmation that your enrollment request has been submitted. Enrollment decisions will be emailed out by the Executive Director by Friday, April 12th.

Commitment: If you are accepted to all days that you have applied for, you are contracted for those days for the entire school year. If you wish to change enrollment or drop days, you will only be released from your contract if we are able to fill your dropped day(s) with someone from the Waitlist. If AASP cannot accommodate your entire request for enrollment for your child(ren), you have 14 days from the date of your acceptance notification to withdraw the child(ren) from the Program or request to alter their enrollment.

Registration fee: You will be charged a $50/family registration fee upon submitting your enrollment request. Please note that unlike monthly tuition fees, the registration fee will be charged regardless of whether you sign up for “Auto Pay” or “Self Pay.” Current Waitlist Families: The registration fee will be waived for families who paid a registration fee for the 23-24 school year, but were placed on the Walitlist and not enrolled. Please note that we have to remove the fee from your account manually after it posts. If you choose to complete the payment, the money will not be refunded.

Tuition: A deposit covering September 2024 tuition will be posted to your account upon your acceptance into the program. Tuition for the 2024-2025 school year is $118/month each for Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday, and $213/month for Wednesdays. The total monthly cost for one “full time” child is $685.

Multi-child discount: Families with two or more children enrolled in at least 3 days each will receive a 5% discount for the second and any additional children. The total monthly cost for two “full time” children is $1,336.

Payment options: You will choose “Auto Pay” or “Self Pay” when you register. If you choose Auto Pay, your tuition payments will be processed on the first business day of each month. If you select “Self Pay,” you are responsible for submitting payments on time. Families can pay via check or echeck (ACH). You can update your payment information at any time in the Portal. Due to high processing fees, we do not accept credit cards.

Financial Aid: If you need financial assistance in order to participate in the program, a financial aid application and supporting documentation will be required after enrollment decisions are sent out in April. The application must be requested by April 22nd, and completed and returned by May 10th at 6pm in order to be considered. If we are not able to provide the requested amount of aid, you may decide at that time to withdraw your enrollment from the program.

Hours: AASP is open from 2:50-6pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 12:20-6pm on Wednesdays, and 12:10-6pm and the six “early release” days throughout the school year. AASP is open on days that school is open, except on the Wednesday half day before Thanksgiving break, and the last day of school in June. AASP is closed on all days that school is closed, including holidays, vacations, and weather-related closures. AASP reserves the right to close for health or weather emergencies even if school is open.

Age groups: Students at AASP are divided into groups based on their grade: a K-1st grade program, a 2nd-3rd grade program, and a 4th-5th grade program. These groupings are subject to change, based on enrollment numbers by grade. Each age group has its own staff, schedule, and activities, with some opportunities for overlap. Please make sure to select the correct group when you register (ex. “Mondays in K-1” for a 1st grade child). Check out the Activities page of our website for more information about the types of activities and programming we provide.

Please contact us at info@angierafterschool.com if you have questions about enrollment!
