Tuesdays

AASP mini-Players, September-November

Students in k-1st grade are invited to participate in a simplified theatrical undertaking. The details of the production will be catered to the abilities and talents of the students involved. The performance will take place in November, and will be open to AASP families and friends!

Wednesday

Hockey

For the first time in many years, the Angier After School Hockey League had so many recruits that we had to go up to five teams! Four teams will each play in one of two match-ups every Wednesday between 1-3:30pm, and one team will have a “bye-week.”

Our floor hockey league runs from September through May, and our Wednesday friends start talking about it on the first day of after school! The league is open to all students in 1st-5th grade who want to play, but it is a commitment for the full school year! All 5th graders that participate in the league are rewarded with Captains duties on their team.

At the end of the year, everyone who played in the league will be awarded with personalized trophies to commemorate their achievements over the course of the season and the team that is lucky enough to win the championship will be immortalized with an engraving of the team name and all it’s players on the Scafidi Cup for all generations of AASP to see.

Clubs:

Students who choose not to join the hockey league may take advantage of the extra AASP time on Wednesdays by participating in a rotating series of “clubs,” or ongoing projects that take place over a three-week period. Past clubs have included:

  • Marble runs
  • Crochet
  • Nature explorers
  • Halloween science
  • Music videos

Thursday

AASP Players Theater Group, November-March

Drama has been a staple of AASP for many years, performing such classics as You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Wizard Of Oz, and Shrek Jr.!

Melanie is returning for her seventh year as Theater Director, accompanied by Ahmad. The play is open to students in 2nd-5th grade, and will be announced in November.
