Every year here at AASP, in the spirit of the season, we try to help bring awareness to the children and help them to understand poverty and how it affects our world through our Annual Oxfam Hunger Banquet, happening tomorrow, November 22, 2011. Oxfam International is an organization whose work includes being a world leader in the delivery of emergency relief, and working to reduce poverty and injustice. AASP is honored to have been able to support Oxfam in the past, and this year has included interactive discussions with the children about Oxfam’s role in the world, along with our roles, and the differences that we can make, including donations, to help signify that even the smallest amount can make a difference. Also happening tomorrow, November 22, 2011, is the 23rd Annual Alumni Hockey Game! If you are an AASP alumnus, come and play against this year’s star AASP hockey players!
Come join us as we embark on our annual AASP Ice Skating Field Trip at the Frog Pond in Boston on Thursday, December 1, 2011., Permission slips are available now next to the sign-out sheet directly outside the main room. The cost is $5.00 to go, and $4.00 to rent skates (if you have skates, please feel free to bring them). This is a trip for Thursday families only, and is open to children of all skills. Please turn your money and permission slip in to a teacher so we know how many are going. Permission slips and money are due no later than Wednesday, November 30, 2011.
